This app is designed for a baby growing up in a bilingual environment, perhaps where parents speak two or more languages.

Bilingual Baby is currently available in 7 languages - English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and Japanese.

We had a lot of fun creating this app. So if you know anyone raising a baby in a bilingual environment, send them this link

Download Bilingual Baby here

But Steve Jobs' decision to disable the ability to use flash in any of their products is real disappointment. There are some great websites built on Flash technology.

Steve Jobs' recent slamming of Adobe's Flash technology is a smokescreen. Adobe Flash provides hands-down THE BEST multimedia experience on the web today. And has done for ten years.

Now Steve Jobs wants to shut that technology out. He clearly has $$$ signs in his eyes. He wants users to buy all their games through the Apple App Store. Any iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad, or even Safari 5 users cannot access any Flash websites.

As Web Developers we have used Flash (Once Shockwave Flash, then Macromedia Flash, and now Adobe Flash) since the very early days, and quite possibly know more about the technology than Steve Jobs claims to.

Sure, Flash can be heavy on processor speed, but this has been greatly improved. And it is up to developers to optimise their code. It is nowhere near as much of an issue as it used to be. And it will continue to improve over time.

We can say this with confidence when Steve Jobs claims that HTML5 and CSS3 are just as powerful as Flash. It is simply not possible to create a game with these technologies.

Flash is THE ONLY CROSS-PLATFORM game creation tool for the web.

That is, if you create a game with Flash, you can play it on any browser - except Apple's new Safari 5 browser. And on any platform - Windows, Apple or Linux/UNIX.

Steve Jobs, you're a bad sport.

With control over the platform and the advertising network, Apple is really set to make some serious money. By Jobs' estimates by the end of 2010, Apple will be serving 1 billion ads per day. His calculations? 100 million users spend an average of 30 minutes a day in an App, and are served an ad every three minutes.

App developers are being encouraged to deploy the iAd technology inside their apps. Apple will retain 40% of the adshare, and developers will make 60%.

Rather than use one Social Network over another, they launched a full-on assault, using Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Wikipedia.

Its Twitter account initially was bombarded with off-color tweets. But the online campaign also has drawn more than 1 million fans to Skittles' Facebook page, where they are trading thoughts on everything from Skittles-infused vodka to whether the tart candies are tastier than M&Ms.

The cleverness of the campaign is largely coming from its integrated and interactive approach to Social Media. First they created some catchy videos, then they stormed each Social Media site, turning their skittles homepage into a live feed from that social network.
A new release of Firefox 3 on tuesday, has spurred another download frenzy across the Web, with downloads at nearly a million already.
Now, 3rd party developers are leading the way on Firefox, with a rise in handy Web 2.0 style-addons being up uploaded onto the Firefox site
Some of my favourites:

Shareaholic

offers an easy way to submit the sites you're browsing straight to Facebook, del.icio.us, Digg, Friendfeed, Google Reader, pownce, Stumbleupon and Twitter, as well as using the cool Bzzster 'Email to a friend' Web 2.0 App.

Clipmarks

gives you the tools to create your own online scrapbook from the websites that you browse.

PicLens

is one of my new favourites. Not strictly Web 2.0 (although it uses Web 2.0 APIs), this tool is very handy none-the-less!

Scribefire

is a great way to manage your blog.
